Ok, this isn't the recipe I made for the above-pictured freezer meal, but I don't like how creamy it turned out. The pictured recipe might end up tasting just fine, but after I put it together I wished I would have made the following recipe, Skid Row Stroganoff. My friend Mish gave this recipe to me at one of my bridal showers and I have made it many, many times and I know it's delish.
What You Need:
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 4 oz can mushrooms (I can't stand canned, I use fresh)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 package wide egg noodles
- Chopped parsley (optional, and dried can also be used)
What You Do:
- Brown garlic, onion, mushrooms, and beef in oil.
- Add flour, salt, paprika.
- Simmer until beef is cooked.
- Add soup, simmer on low for 10 minutes.
- Turn off heat and stir in sour cream.
- Remove from burner and allow to cool.
- Label a gallon Ziploc freezer bag: Thaw in fridge. Simmer on low until heated through while you cook egg noodles. Serve over noodles and garnish with paprika and parsley.
- Pour into freezer bag, remove as much air as possible, freeze flat.
