Becoming a Morning Person

I have always been a night owl.  However, I have had a strong desire to miraculously morph into a morning person for a while now.  Instead of giving myself just enough time to rush out the door 30 minutes from waking up and eating breakfast in my car on my commute to work, I plan on giving myself  "me" time in the morning.  Here's my plan:
  • Go to bed by 10:30 p.m.
  • Set alarm for 5:30 a.m. instead of 6:00 a.m. (the trick here will be actually getting out of bed and not snoozing for 30 minutes, which I usually do).
  • Take Goose outside to go potty
  • Make tea or coffee and breakfast (I make my lunches at night)
  • Curl up on the couch with my tea or coffee, eat breakfast while I watch the local news (KING 5 preferred)
  • Read Bible and pray
  • Get ready for the work day (I shower at night)
Today was day #1 of the metamorphosis, and it went fairly well.  I did snooze a couple times, so I eliminated the local news (I get that on the radio on my commute anyway). I felt fully awake, refreshed, and ready to start my day with intention!

A couple other goals I've set for myself:
  • I gave myself a June graduation deadline, and signed up for an additional class this quarter (Women in History).
  • I am going to start yoga again; my body misses it dearly.  I attempted last night, but I didn't get there in time :(  I'm also going to join Matt's gym.  I cancelled my membership at LA Fitness because I wasn't going, and Matt's gym is less than 5 minutes from our house so I have no excuses.
Time for bed...it's after 10:30!
